Our Story
“We always felt that the South Bay deserved a gourmet Indian restaurant. Some place that could really pique the taste buds, a place where the service staff is professional and attentive, and where the ambience is just right… Something more exotic than the high-end steak, potato, burger, and pasta restaurants that are too common in the area.”
A Journey to Gourmet Nirvana
For years we had been contemplating opening a gourmet Indian restaurant. Our goal was to create an Indian restaurant where guests could enjoy a truly authentic first class dining experience. A place one could go locally without having to travel to New York or London or even Toronto. A place that could compete with the best of the best. We continued looking for the perfect location for a fine dining Indian restaurant where guests could enjoy a truly authentic first class dining experience.
In summer of 2009, we found the perfect location with outdoor patios which had ocean views, assembled a winning team and together turned a dream into reality. The South Bay seemed to be the perfect place with its fresh ocean air and collection of fine dining eateries. In fact, the only thing missing in the South Bay was a fine dining gourmet Indian restaurant. And so our journey began and opened Ocean Tava: India Bistro.
