Best Indian Restaurant 2011
Thank you to South Bay for voting Ocean Tava as “the #1 Indian Restaurant for 2 years in a row”

One of the friendliest Indian eateries in town…Walk through the door and the staff lights up like the scoreboard. Indeed, the menu tells us, “Hospitality is the highest form of courtesy in India”. The vegetable-filled pakoras and samosas are crispier than most, a real treat. The menu suggest the tandoori salmon as an appetizer, and the menu is right; it’s crisp on the outside, tender on the inside…the kitchen seems very skilled at keeping its dishes moist - the chicken tikka virtually squirted juice when I bit into it; the lamb tikka masala reminded me why we love this dish…There are nine breads to chew on and lots of dishes for vegetarians.
Impressed by the range of flavors and the quality of the cooking

“This classy, modern Indian Restaurant…was impressed by the range of flavors and the quality of the cooking. The menu is small compared to the encyclopedic tomes at many local places, but there are some interesting items”

I checked out the new Ocean Tava India Bistro recently and had a great meal…First off, I was pleasantly surprised by the view! …the appetizer my friend ordered was unbelievable: The Reshmi Chicken - muwah! (That’s me doing the fingertips to lips kiss thing). This white meat chicken infused with a marinade of yogurt and spices needed nothing. In fact, had I known it was that good I would have made an entrée out of it with the delicious garlic naan bread and rice. The entree I did order, Lamb Tikka Masala, was excellent…but that Reshmi had such a unique, fantastic flavor, my taste buds didn’t want to readjust to anything else. As a matter of fact I ordered another to go. I’ll be back.
